notification Alarm in S Planner

Got my 4G Samsung G3,running JB out of the box, a couple of weeks ago.
On the whole I love it, but it's VERY hard to get good instructions to set things up. The ICS seems to be easier. The user manual is pretty much useless.
Anything that I've been able to set up has always been after looking into forums like this one.
Anyway, I'm having problems with the alarm notification in my S Planner, I can set the alarm to notify me of my task and it does, but it only lasts for about a second & then it's gone never to be heard again.
How to I set it to last longer or until I acknowledge it & turn it off? Also I don't get a missed alarm notification either.
Can anyone help?

You can add your own, longer notification sound by loading it into the Notifications folder on your phone and then select it under Ringtone in the S Planner settings. I also downloaded Calendar Snooze where you can get it to keep repeating until you act on it and you can also select a snooze time.

but I tried to add mp3 files to the following folders but none worked:
/sdcard/Notifications
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Can you pls confirm where should I put the files? Do u think the problem could be the mp3 file format?

It works fine if you put them in your Phone/notifications directory. SDcards are a bit tricky.
