T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Notification bar and lock screen

So I've tried everything here. Lets say my phone is idle, I get a text or email, the phone lights up and I can pull the notification bar down to click on the email, text, etc but I still have to swipe the lock screen to get to the email, text, etc. I'm used to my S6 Edge Plus where I could skip the swipe part, if I clicked on the email it would bring me right to that app. I'm sure it's a setting that I'm missing but it's annoying to have to swipe every time.

What am I missing? Thanks guys!

I think the only way to do that since the Note 5/S7 is to have no lock screen. Otherwise you always have to go through that layer. From what I've seen so far on the phone, the only other way to bypass this is to either set up the Iris scanner to unlock without swiping (so it starts scanning as soon as the screen turns on) or to select the option to hard-press the home button and skip the lockscreen (this only works directly with non-secure ones...otherwise it just prompts you for your credentials).

Blah, OK. I was just used to going right to the text or email from the pulldown and not having to swipe on the S6. It's no big deal, I'll get used to it, just slightly annoying.

Thanks for the response!

Yeah, it is annoying, I agree. But while you get used to it, setting up Quick Replies does help a bit.
