Notification Bar Question

Coming from the Gnex, the fact that there is so much wasted space in the bar really bothers me. I have Smart Scroll disabled but the icon's still there. And I don't know what the other icon to the right of it represents.

Another thing is the AM/PM identifier. Now I may have a terrible sense of time, but generally I know which half of the day I'm currently in.

Anyone know of any optimizations I can take without rooting?

Side note: why can't I attach images to new threads in the new AC app? -_-

I was doing some reading and to get rid of the eye icon you have to disable both smart stay and smart rotation. Please let me know if that works.

Just putting this idea out there:

If there is an option to switch to military (24 hour) time, then do that. AM/PM should disappear. Coming from night shift this is how I prefer the time show up on my phone but only do that if you can read military time

I just turned everything off. Didn't work.

Just putting this idea out there:

I just turned everything off. Didn't work.

Just checked the settings menu. There was stuff there that didn't have toggles. The icon is gone now c:

Turning off location services just removes the waves, apparently.

I've always used military time on my devices. was in the air nat'l guard for six years (1999 - 2005)

As a DoD contractor, I'm quite used to it myself. Makes me much less prone to accidentally set my alarm for PM times as well (which used to happen more often than I care to admit to).

I have never found a UTC setting Changing Time Zonezone isn't the same as UTC.

The Bullseye that is left once the waves are gone is to notify that location is on for E911 only. When the waves are present it's location services for E911 and GPS.
