Notification Bar

Just got my evo the other day. Just wondering - is there away to change the "Sprint" at the top of the Notification bar.

Kinda annoying when i pull the bar down each time i look at what notification i get.

I'm not exploring themes or roms yet, i figure those will do the trick, but for now is there a way to do it with the stock?

Im not sure what you mean? my notification bar doesn't say Sprint when I was stock.

Gotcha. I didn't notice that until you brought it up lol. It's not loud enough to bother me.

I have a custom rom and I still dont care that it's there. I don't notice it.

It's always bugged me too, but for the most part I have gotten over it.

I don't care so much about the branding as I do the wasted space on the screen.

I'll be flashing some ROM's soon. My guess is they'll get rid of it.

i changed that a while ago before i decided to root. u have to use CDMA workshop to change that. theres some guides on xda if you want and you wont need to root or anything fancy, just install a couple drivers and a program and ull be good to go

I could see the complaint if the notification screen was something that stayed on the screen all the time, but you can't see the carrier name unless you drag down the bar to see a notification.

As far as wasted space goes, I don't see how it's an issue. It's not like you've got to scroll through pages of notifications. In fact, unless I've just done a bunch of updates to apps in the Market, I never have more than a few notifications to view on the screen that I drag down, so having the word "Sprint" at the top isn't a problem for me. I still get to see everything on one screen.

...but to each his/her own. Some folks are OCD about stuff like that. LOL
