Notification comes up when the app itself isnt even installed

Hi guys hope i can get some help here. My bf has an android. And he just told me that a notification came up of a app called phoneclone. He has never had that app installed in the phone itself so its just weird how that came up. He also said that the phone as this notification came up the phone powerd off by itself? Can someone help me pls

Welcome to Android Central! Was it a notification that showed up in the status bar? If so, tell him to swipe the notification panel down and long-press the notification, then tap App Info -- that'll tell him which app was responsible.
