Notification icons disappeared

I got a galaxy s8+ about a week ago and would get notifications from messages, email, Facebook, and other apps on the always on display. Now all of a sudden they stopped showing up. How do I get them back on?

Hello!

Let's take a look at those settings!

1. Pull down your notification shade, and tap on the Settings.

2. Scroll down until you see and select Lock screen and security.

3. Ensure the toggle next to the Always On Display category is turned on. To turn it on, simply press it one time.

4. Make sure the notifications toggle is turned on.

I'm having the same issue however I don't see a notification toggle. Where would it be?

It should be in that exact settings menu underneath "Always on Display"

For some reason, that is not an option in my Settings, and I cannot determine why, so I still cannot get the notifications. Any additional thoughts would be appreciated.
