Notification interruption

When I'm listening to music using youtube, podcast etc, (Bluetooth connection) I'll get notifications from other forums i subscribe to or fb, Twitter etc. But the problem is, when I get these notifications, it disrupts the music I'm listening to. It will turn down the volume of my music for a couple of seconds or so. It can get really annoying if I get multiple notifications.
I still want the notifications, but how can I stop it from interfering when I'm streaming music?

I have s9+ and just updated it last night. But this has been happening for a while now.

I do not believe there is away around this unless you silence your notification sounds. Even then I'm not positive that it won't lower the volume anyway as if there were sound even though there is not. You could set-up a Bixby routine that says, If I'm using this app silence notification volume. You could also turn on DND which is meant to silence notifications and send calls to VM. I don't use this myself so I'm not 100% on how notifications come through while it is active. Do they still light up the screen, do they still display immediately without sound... IDK?

Personally I like listening to POD casts and through my POD cast app, I have elected to pause for interruptions. This way I don't miss any of the story or show I'm listening to. Granted this may not be the best solution for music listening, I mean stopping and starting a song would seem distracting to say the least.

One last thing, I'm not sure if you can make a routine that includes all of the apps you don't want interrupted by using "or" statements or if you'd have to create a routine for each app. If you can use "or" statements it would be something like, If I'm using Spotify or YouTube Music or POD Catcher, reduce notification volume, Or if you'd have do one for each one individually. And again I'm not sure if just turning the volume down will stop it from acting like there was still sound and lowering or interrupting your streaming.

Best wishes. Let us know if you find something that works.

You can set it for a time or as a timer. If you look at the schedule you can set it to turn off at 19:00 if you know that's when you'll be leaving, finished or whatever or you can set it for an hour or some time but I think it has to be one hour increments, possibly half hour but round numbers like that. The easy thing about it though is there is a toggle in the quick settings above the notifications. So if you put it in the main row you'd only have to pull down your notifications once to see it or it can just be on the first page of the quick settings. If it is on the first page swiping down with two fingers will open it in one pull or you can pull the notifications down twice with one finger to expand it.

Like I mentioned in my first comment, I don't know how DND handles notifications. Not sure if they come straight through and just don't make any sound or if they don't come through until DND has ended and again I'm not sure if it will affect playback, lowering the volume as if it played a sound even though it had not. Plus with DND you can set up exceptions. So if you have a list of people who should always be able to contact you they can be added as exceptions and you'll still get calls and maybe SMS from them so you're never really out contact.
