notification issue

Love my Pixel XL so far but there is one annoying issue. I am not getting notifications for WSJ news, CNN breaking news, and Facebook notifications. I checked all the settings and they are set up correctly. Is anyone else having this issue? Thoughts?

So you are saying that I should hit "not optimize" in the battery optimization settings for those three apps? If so, then why is it that other apps are optimized and I get those notifications without fail?

You're not receiving notifications at all? Or just with a bit delay?

Not at all on CNN and WSJ. Facebook is working now.

Haha I totally agree with that. Facebook send notifications of stuff you have no interest in.

Still no notifications on CNN ESPN WSJ and BLOOMBERG. I have tried everything: Clear cache, uninstalled, reinstalled the apps, reboot, unchecked optimize for doze. I am beginning to think that these apps are not optimized for 7.1. Other app notifications are working fine. But, is anyone else having this issue with these apps? Thank you.

Contact the developers. Most of these apps are several months out of date and don't support 7.0 yet, which is a shame. ESPN has been updated to support 7.0 so I'm not sure what's up there. I don't think the APIs in 7.1 have changed for doze on the go, but I could be wrong.

I contacted the developers and I got this reply from the WSJ: "At this time our App is not fully compatible with the new version of Android 7. As the operating system continues to be released to all areas and devices, we will be updating our app over time to ensure full compatibility.We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused and we appreciate your patience. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact us."

So my hunch was correct.
