Notification LED settings

I can't seem to turn off the led notifications for my gmail and yahoo mail apps. I have unchecked email in the led notifications setting under the display settings but that doesn't work. I can't find any seperate led settings anywhere else, i even checked under each app's settings but didn't find anything.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
