Notification light on Galaxy Nexus

I have a weird thing happening with my notification light. It works fine except when it seems I get a missed call, it flashes red as normal, BUT when I check the call log and even all other notifications , the red light continues to flash when the phone is locked. What gives? Anyone experiencing a notification light that doesnt go away?
