Notification Panel Frustration

I use headphones frequently and it bothers me greatly that a whole line of "recommended apps (earphones)" clogs the notification panel. I just don't get why anyone designing this section thought this was a good idea. Plus the gall of making it non-removeable. Am I missing something? Is there a way to remove this?

There's an app that controls this, though no one has found a downside to doing it this way yet. Settings -> More... -> Application Manager -> All -> PageBuddyNotiSvc -- Uncheck Show notifications. It's unknown at the moment if this thing shows notifications for anything important.
