Notification Panel not accessible

Right - over the past couple of days I've found the notification bar to not work - any push notifications (e.g. texts, e-mails...) show up, but I can't swipe down in order to open up the panel and see them in more detail, if it responds it opens up the clock.

Only thing I can think of would be that it got a bit wet over the weekend due to the rain, but I fail to see how the exterior getting briefly wet would break the notifications panel, besides if it were water damaged I'd expect more than just one feature to go down.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried rebooting the phone?

I've tried rebooting it, and I've tried a factory reset but neither have solved it.

If it got wet, I wonder if some moisture got under the screen and is messing up the touch sensitivity at the top of the screen. You could try the old uncooked rice in a Ziploc bag trick for 24 hrs, and then see if it's any better.

Ok, I've tried that and then done another factory reset - still nothing, the notifications bar will not slide down. Any other suggestions?

Might be time to call HTC to see if they can fix it. I wouldn't mention the getting wet part.

Well, I've given HTC a call and they've said it'd have to go in for repair, but to check with the carphone warehouse (where I got it from) to see if they do in-house repair or replacement phones. So will be doing that tomorrow. Thanks for your help anyway.
