Notification questions

First of all, wow the watch is real nice looking. I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy Gear 2. I also had the Samsung Galaxy Gear 1.

At any rate, I really like this watch. It does take some getting used to compared to the Samsung. With my Samsung, I had the ability to create shortcuts, control the notifications so, Fitbit updates would show on the screen, my Lyric thermostat updates would show as well.

Is there any way to get the Moto 360 to do any of this? Right now, as I scroll through the interface on the watch and phone, I do not see the functionality. I have a Note 3 right now.

Yes u can. Not sure if this will answer ur questions... I had the gear 2....also have a note 3. Got my 360 about 2 weeks ago. There were a lot of apps for the gear2....more came out w time... I just didn't like the 80's calculator watch look. U need to download Moto Connect.... Thru the play store.. Will help u control notifications. There are a ton off apps that more are coming g out each day to do a lot of same things the gear did. I just hated Tizen... I am much happier with the 360....look and feel and Google now!

Thanks for the tips. I did not see much in the Moto Connect app but, I did find more on the Android Gear app where I could download other apps to work with it.

Things that I did not like about the GG were the 80's calculator watch look and also being locked into the Samsung echo system. I really did not like the Note 3 Messaging app but never could get the other messaging apps to work 100% the way I liked. Its nice that I can use other messaging and keyboard apps. Now I want to keep it longer. I was going to return it today until you told me about this so, thanks for the information. I really did not want the GG S because I am sure that will require another fee from Verizon and it locks me into the Samsung watch bands.

My wife says that my Moto 360 looks like I am wearing a gas cap on my wrist. I did manage to get her to look at it for about 5 minutes. She is more of an Isheep user than Android,.
