Notification reminders not working

I've searched the forum and couldn't find the answer, so here is the question. Before the One UI 3.0 and Android 11 update, my Samsung S20 Ultra 5G was getting the "notification reminders" every 3 mins like I had opted for, now I don't. I've checked that setting and it's still on, I even toggled it off and on. My Notification pop style is "detailed". I have "messages" selected for what apps to get reminders for. Not sure what else to check. Anybody have any insight on this?

for which app? have you press the 'Notification reminders' words and go into another settings for it? select apps to get reminders for

it will alert with selected notification sound under sounds and vibration settings

Yes I have. I'm trying to get the notifications for messages and phone. I'm using the Samsung stock Message app
