Notification/ Ringer Question

Is there any way to have notifications set to vibrate or mute and only have the ringer sound for incoming calls?
I want my phone at work to ring, but don't want all the beeps, bloops, etc. every time I get an sms, email, social media notification, etc.

You should be able to use Do Not Disturb, but still have an exception to allow calls from anyone.

Yep but I want to be able to have all notifications for sms, etc. on vibrate. just ringer on sound.

Hmm, for some reason one of the main apps that has been mentioned in the past for this, Soundabout, is no longer available on the Play Store (although its premium unlock key is still there, derp). Lots of articles also mention an app called Volume Butler, which also is no longer in the Play Store. Not sure if these apps somehow violate Play Store terms of service, or if something with a recent Android update rendered these apps useless.
