In the beginning or in the middle of the sound?

I think you toggled the vibrate only setting. Try pushing the volume up button until you see a bell symbol to return to your preferred settings.

I think you are referring to something I have as well. The notification sounds, but is cut short sometimes.

All sounds are turned off and the phone just vibrates I have to reboot my phone for everything to come back to normal I go through all of the settings and everything is set to ring normal but theirs no sound

Could it be connected to something via Bluetooth, like a headset?

Im using CM14.1 (android 7.1) on my galaxy S5. I have noticed in 7.0+ that my notification sounds will sometimes play half the sound.

I have a bug with cm14.1 specifically that causes my notification sounds to not come back until a restart after using do not disturb.

Your OS could have a similar bug or perhaps it's a setting your missing. Just thought I'd provide some info

I suggest clearing the cache partition: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...112125/~/clear-cache-partition---moto-z-force

If that does not work, I suggest doing the external factory data reset: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...prod_answer_detail/a_id/112157/p/30,6720,9833

If that does not work, I suggest trying to repair the OS with the steps in this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/mo...may-not-work-properly-message-boot-error.html

This was supposed to be fixed with the last update. It didn't fix it. My ringtone will actually start low then full volume.

Was it supposed to be fixed? I don't see anything about Notification sounds in the Nougat notes.
