Notification sounds

A little while ago, the notification sounds on my phone just quit. I'm not sure why. I have no sounds for appts, emails, or txts anymore. Can anyone help? I am not rooted.

Sounds like a far off sub menu needs a check mark in it to me... Or you got some software probs if all other sounds work normally rom corruption and hardware is out imo and noodle around and go deep in to settings to double check.. Conflicts happen in notifications as I have friends that tell me tales.. Have a second app over the stock app?? That will do it.. Corrupt custom Ringtones.. Ringtone conflict, updates??

Any info you can give to help the folks in here that know what they are doing will help you and is a good idea as to them (Those in the know) this place is just filled with ppl who will fix their problem and then leave or can't speak the language and get frustrated and flame.. Wheres their motivation to help?? lol,, Standing on the side of the road waiting for someone to change your tire for free is the same as in here.. The more attractive you are the more likely you are to have that happen.. Simple..

Those are the things I would check.. Welcome aboard the midnight special and enjoy the ride.. I love my rooted OV!!

Well, I've used zedge for most of my custom stuff from almost day 1. I had no problems for about a year as I've had my ov since 3/11. I did change my sd card not too long ago, but I don't know if this started before our after that. I tried switching my calender appointment alert sound to a preloaded option. It didn't seem to help.

Stupid question maybe, but have you tried a reboot?

There are no stupid questions. This has been going on for several weeks now. I reboot at least once per day.

If the Ringtone or the app was on the sd card it may cause a issue.. Never used Zedge before so I would move it to internal if that's the case or change apps just to check maybe myself.. It's just like my head.. Sometime the neurons play nice sometimes they don't.. Sadly I have no external memory lol.. Drinking is my version of a cache wipe

Yeah. I had that thought too. That's why I changed to a preloaded tone on the phone memory. It didn't work either. Side note: All my sd card both zedge and android system ringtones for calls still work fine.

Yes,, but just to clarify is your zedge on the sd card or not?? If it is try moving it to internal or reinstall it to internal to shake things up then move it back to sd if it runs there now.. I have deleted a million apps that didn't play nice with the OV or the sd.. If you have a spare sd there is a test option I know nothing about but my head goes there.. May do nothing but it's a shot.. Just back it up first ok..

And as a last resort get the Optimus Elite $150 and start from the ground up.. VM has even better options for double that amount as we all know in the EVO V forum and retire your good friend gracefully lol GL.. If your like me if you get a year + out of it you did good

Gonna run my OV till it die's or they raise the rent form the $25 a month I pay now and get a second handset and account for the Evo V or what ever I end up with..
Oh and as Mom likes to say "did you try to pull the battery all the way out first wait 10 secs put it back in and reboot??" Evil Neurons!!

I tried moving zedge. We'll see what happens. Also, I'm not paying $35/month until i'm upgrading for 4g.

Bummer I hate when that happens!! I know from experience that the Optimus V can make a excellent Frisbee and wall texture enhancement tool hehe..

I've been having silent ringtones (no ringtone apps) since my first ROM, but I check my phone a lot anyway. Sometimes they do vibrate tough...

Lol took me 5 calls before I figured out how to answer the phone on my new rom.. Then I tried to change the pattern on the lock screen and input no pattern and then got locked out.. Should change my screen name to 2BHuman_is2Error.. Love this new rom.. Thank goodness for recovery..
