Is it possible to copy the stock notification sounds to a computer, and if so, how?

If not, is it possible to download the stock notification sounds somwhere?

Yes, if you are rooted, you can use a file explorer like Root Explorer to copy the files to your SD card and then copy them to your computer from there. Just open the root file explorer and go to the folder: /system/media/audio/notifications. That is where you will find them on the Droid X. Just copy & paste the file(s) you want to your SD card folder.

Here is how you copy them from SD card to your computer: Plug in your USB cable (make sure you have USB debugging checked in settings under Applications > Development). When the USB notification comes up, choose USB Mass Storage mode. Open the folder on your computer (which will be your SD card). Then copy the file you put there over to your computer.

I like the default phone ringer that comes with the DX Froyo. GB does not come with that tone. If someone could pull it from their DX Froyo and send it to me, I would appreciate it. Please PM.

Wildman - thanks for the link. I downloaded the file, put it on my SD card. The noob that I am, I don't know what do to extract the sound files. I clicked on it from within the android file explorer, but that didn't do anything.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Thank you!

No problem, I pay for that account for backup apk and it makes it useful to be able to transmit files that big... Glad I could help.

Unfortunately, the particular ringtone I was looking for is not there. It was "default" on the original DX Froyo. Oh well...

Those are all the ringers from the Froyo SBF so I do not know what sounds you trying to find. I pulled those from the ISO image file...
