Notification triggering without actually touching the notification

[Android Central Question]

Hi all, over the past few months my Note 5 has decided to start to have some issues. One issue is that of the audio sometimes sounds like it is laggy and it breaks up, but a restart can fix this. I know it is a software issue within the version of Android that I am running because my brother's Note 5 does the exact same thing. The issue that I am wondering about is when a notification comes in, say a Snapchat notification, I can tap near the bottom of the screen when I am using the phone and it will act as if I tapped on the notification up the top of the screen and switches to the app. It is frustrating for things like messenger when I am in one conversation and it switches to another if a message comes in. Is there any fix for something like this?
