Notifications Across Different Android Devices

I use the same Google account for my work tablet, personal tablet and my phone. I get the same notifications on all devices. Is there a setting in Android where if I dismiss them on one device it dismisses them across all devices? It's annoying to turn my work tablet on come Monday and see all the notifications I got all weekend come up again and I've seen and dismissed them already. If someone sent me a message through messenger the same notifications pops up for that too even though I already responded. It's annoying having to dismiss repeated notifications on three devices.

I think that has to do with how the developer coded the app. I have found that for certain apps, if I actually tap the notification on one device (i.e., act on the notification rather than just swiping it away), the notification will disappear on other devices. But for other apps, the notification doesn't disappear.

However, if you're just dismissing the notification from one device, that won't do anything on other devices at all, because you're not actually acting on the notification.

Yup, as stated above, it depends on the app (and not on your account). GMail, for instance, will sync notifications across all devices, even if the new e-mail is read on a web browser on a computer (might take a little while depending on your connection, but it'll happen). FB and Messenger, on the other hand, looooove to notify you on every single device you own (which is why I suggest you keep notifications on for your main device and off elsewhere). Some others, depending on their own server states, can act up and not sync properly (like 3rd party e-mail apps).

Some it won't matter if I turn notifications off. Other apps I need notifications on so I won't be able to turn off notifications but I should be able to on most apps though. So hopefully I can cut down on the repeat notifications.

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the info. Some I do actively select and others I don't so that could be part of it.
