Notifications during a call

I have looked and didn't find (maybe searched the wrong terms) but how do I disable notification sounds while on a call?

Yes, but on the Note 2 I do not have the settings described in that post.

You can turn off message notifications: go to phone app > settings > call alerts

Or customize blocking mode: goto system settings > tap the word blocking mode > enable it and customize to what you want blocked. Now just enable it before your call
