Notifications for favorites to always ring whether in "do not disturb" or not?

I thought there was some kind of setting that you could set up that if you marked a phone number or contact as a "favorite" , then even if you were in "do not disturb " mode, their call or notification would come through. I found out tonight, this is not the case on my phone. My bedtime Bixby routine and my normal "do not disturb " are keeping ALL notifications quiet. How can I change this? I want certain people to still reach me no matter what.

Yeah dnd if you choose favorite should allow just those, double check bixby routines not overriding it

So you need another app? Is there a dnd that you recommend? Looks like there are several out there. Thanks again.

Hi dpomerance: good advice. I went into those settings and dnd was turned off. When I turned it back on my favorites are now an exception. I have no idea how that got turned off. Thanks for the tip!

DND is baked into the software , in your notification panel , long press it to get to the settings

Thank you, mustang7757. I discovered another issue: my Bixby routine had specific values input such as 0% on sounds, notifications, etc. So I deleted it and changed the routine to say "Do Not Disturb" so that should actually utilize the dnd exceptions and all that I have already set up. I may have one of my friends try it tonight to see if it works the way I have it set now.
