Notifications - manually ask for all - is it possible?

I am not using notifications, I limit them to Whatsapp and Gmail, as the battery life is just not worth is, and I really hate getting bugged by Facebook "someone liked yr photo"etc.

Up to this day I saw no smart notification system.

I came up with this: either an app or a native thing that you tap once (when you have a free moment for example) and it grabs ALL of the apps notifications. Done manually.

Today I have to check many apps to see if there is sth there (FB, Gmail etc). Sometimes I forget and miss important stuff.

Is there anything like this available on Android?

I think that if you turn the SYNC mode off on your phone it should stop giving you notifications. When you turn it back on, however, all those pending notifications should be rushing in at once (careful, this might send your phone into a seizure dance for a while).

A "hold all notifications" app sounds like a good idea, though. Any developers out there reading this? (Is there an API that can be used?)

Wouldn't block mode do that? And just get your notifications rushing in when you 'unblock'?

If there were a "block mode widget" it would do what the OP was asking for. I don't think s/he wants to dig down into Settings each time to change things.

Yeah exactly.
I would like to leave notifications for Phone, sms and maybe whatsapp all the time, just block everything else, and manually hit a button to fetch those notifications when I am lying on the sofa and have some time to respond to msgs etc.

I can of course do that and I do that manually with every app. But as there are many apps.. You get the idea.

Anyhow, I think the notifications up to this day have been nothing but mostly useless and really stupid thing.
Out of all I get some 80% don't deserve my attention at all (Facebook rules in this).
We need to come up with some smart system, like prioritizing messages (sender can for example set the priority to "high" when its important, then you get notified instantly, if not you don't and you check manually when you have the time), etc.
