Notifications on my phone app are locked on

I use DW Contacts for my phone/messaging apps and all of its notification settings are locked, I can't turn them off. If I go into the system settings for the app the on/off controls are there, but greyed out and can't be changed. There was one that wasn't, Event Notification, and I was able to turn it on and off. i left it on and the next day it too was greyed out and can no longer be turned off.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled DW Contacts, no change. Their tech support says it is not an app issue. phone just did a system software upgrade, no change.

Welcome to Android Central! It may have to do with the fact that whatever you set as your Phone app can't turn off notifications. On my Pixel 3 XL, the stock Phone app's notification toggles are also greyed out.
