Notifications??

Hi! I've had my HTC Amaze for about a month now - so far so good!

Just wondering...on my last phone, the myTouch, when I got a text message it popped up on my screen right away, and when I unlocked the phone. I can't figure out how to get this phone to do the same.

Any suggestions??

I use SMS pop up because it is simple. You do have to adjust the notification sound settings and I changed mine so the little notification on the task bar wouldn't come on because if you answer on pop up it doesn't know you did and leaves the icon up there.

What do you mean "popped up right away?" On the Lock Screen? I get that ... set your locked screen to Wallpaper. Also ... check the Settings | Privacy options, ensure you've enabled the display of text msgs and missed calls on the lock screen. (My money's riding on this being your solution.... )

I see SMS messages momentarily on the notifications bar when they arrive ... but very briefly, a toast. I can also see the first 70 characters or so in my Status drop down. I find all 3 of the HTC Sense Messages widgets are pretty darn handy for reading an incoming message, the "Rolodex" style one being my favorite.

There are lock screens that will allow you to unlock straight to your messages. I just downloaded an ICS themed lock screen that does that. Check out the market.

Um. Sense 3.0 does this natively. You can put Messages on the screen, and drag to the ring. I presume I'm not telling anyone something new....
