So I am liking the sony, have had it for a day or so. A question though, is there a way to have the notifications show up on the screen instead of just the light?

Hi, glad you're liking your Sony....I'm loving mine!

I think what you're looking for sounds a little like active display notifications which are found on some Motorola devices that don't have an LED notification.

You'll have to install an app that does this, and here's one that looks pretty good called ACDisplay :

I am using this - came from a MotoX 2013 - and love it. Turned off the notification light all together.

Do you have to turn on the screen to see active display?
Never mind, I just installed to test it. This is awesome!
