Some manufacturers do that, but I think that's a limited thing. You also have between 15 to 30 days to return the device depending on the carrier, although they usually charge you that re-stocking fee.

But yeah, the JOD program is pretty neat if you want to try out a bunch of phones. I wish they had the Pixel, though. I really wanted to try that one.

I thought about checking the Pixel out but it doesn't really do anything that I'm interested in. For example, there's no MST or NFC technology, no wireless charging, and I don't believe the Pixel is water or dust resistant. It's great for storage and being able to take as many pictures as you want without restrictions but I don't really take a lot of pictures. What's really important to me is being able to pay with my phone instead of doing it the old fashioned way and pulling out my card and swiping it. Even now when I go somewhere I'll go to swipe my card and the cashier stops me and tells me to insert it in the card chip reader. Now I'm totally confused and never know when to swipe my card or insert it in the card chip reader. We used to swipe our cards and now you have to insert them in a card chip reader. If you try to pay with your phone most cashiers will tell you that you can't pay with your phone. The problem is that most cashiers or merchants don't know about this technology. I went to Subway one day and got a sub and I went to pay with my phone and the girl said you can't do that here and I said yes I can and she gave me a weird look and when it worked her mouth hit the floor and her eyes got huge and she ran out from behind the counter all excited and she said show me how you did it so I showed her.

Yeah, I got the cops called on me when the first week that Samsung Pay went live in the US (the girl didn't get to the phone, but she was screaming that I had hacked her terminal and about to call the police; manager talked some sense into her).

You can thank Hollywood for that. Makes people think hacking is some sort of magical thing that you can use to take control over the world and live off everyone else.

I wonder what would've happened if the cops had shown up? Probably nothing since you didn't do anything wrong.
