I just updated the software version of my Samsung Galaxy J7 to Nougat yesterday and it was doing fine and I enjoyed the new touch of layouts and the design it offered but when I woke up this morning it seems like my phone has been "factory reset" on its own and it asked me to log in to my Google account which I was using in my phone but I cant do so because I completely forgot the password. I just wanna ask if does it always happen like this? Like factory resetting on its own after a software update? And what alternatives do I have to open my phone without the trouble of logging in to my
Google account? Please help me. It will be much appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! A spontaneous factory reset is uncommon, and usually means a major glitch in the firmware.

You need to know your Google password -- that's a crucial piece of information to remember if you're going to use a device based on Android. Try recovering it here: https://www.google.com/accounts/recovery/
