Nova crashing

I just installed Nova Launcher to see how it would run on the H5X. Crashed almost immediately, giving me a customized Huawei message (not a generic Android error) saying something about how it caused a lot of instability, and should be uninstalled. Anyone else encounter this?

Lollipop. Still have not gotten any updates OTA (even security updates). I know you can do it manually, but I don't use this device enough for it to be that important to me.
