(Sorry if this is in the wrong place.) Has anyone else been experiencing issues with Nova (prime) recently? I keep having the Google Now addin stop working and the colors for the dock and app drawer background keep going transparent until I restart Nova. I have to reset my phone to get the Google Now addin to work again. Just curious if this is just me or something to do with our phones.

I haven't noticed anything. Are you talking about Nova Google Companion? What happens if you uninstall that -- do you still see the color and transparency problems? If not, maybe one of the recent updates to Nova broke the compatibility with Google Companion. I see that the latter is only available as an apk, so it probably isn't updated that quickly to keep up to speed with Nova updates.

I haven't experienced what you've described, but I have seen Nova acting up and using way more battery than it should. I uninstalled Nova and re-installed it, and then set it up again from scratch (instead of using a backup). It's been behaving since. And I am running the P DP2.

I'm not running the beta app. I've tried reinstalling Nova but that only helps for a little while. I figured something might have updated recently which is just hiccuping but didn't know if others had had any issues. It's definitely a little issue, everything functions like it should aside from the occasional Google Now malfunction. I'm basically just waiting and seeing what happens. Lol.

I keep all my apps up to date, including Nova Prime. I never run beta software as I depend on my devices. I'm having no problems with Nova Prime.

So you've ruled out the Nova Google Companion add-in, or are you using something else that's similar?

Nope. Nova prime working normally on my 2XL just as it did on my Droid Turbo for a couple of years.

I'm about to uninstall the companion and see what happens. I'd get it not working correctly with Nova but seems odd that it'd effect colors going transparent though. For example (this is the most frequently occurring issue) I have my dock set to enable/disable with a double tap and it's also set as an overlay. It's SUPPOSED to be a transparent blue but it occasionally goes completely transparent until I restart Nova. [Posting these I just now noticed that when it goes transparent the Google search bar disappears too... Hmm...]IMG_20180520_094917.jpegIMG_20180520_094947.jpeg

Since Nova Google Companion is an add-in (and one that does not seem to be officially available on the Play Store), I wouldn't be surprised if a glitch occurred that affected more than just how Google Now/Google Feed appears in the Nova interface.

I use the Nova Google Companion add-in with no problems. Apparently there's a good reason it isn't officially available on the Play Store. Here's a quote from the Nova Web Site explaining the reason.

"Nova Launcher supports integrating the Google Now page into the desktop, like Pixel Launcher and Google Now Launcher, through the help of the Nova Google Companion APK. Unfortunately the API from Google is restricted to just preinstalled (system) apps, such as the launcher that came with your device. Third party apps can only use it through a workaround of manually installing a "debuggable" APK outside of the Play Store."

Ah, thanks for that info, @TraderGary!

@oks10, it may be worth backing up your Nova setup, then going to Settings>Apps and clearing the cache and data for both Nova and Nova Google Companion. Then start Nova again and restore your backup.

Uninstalled the companion then restarted Nova. *Fingers crossed* That doesn't work then I'll backup my settings and clear the app data.

Welp. That didn't work. I'll try backing up and clearing the app data next.

I have my dock set to enable/disable with a double tap and it's also set as an overlay.
Could be it's the overlay option that's giving you grief. Since only system apps are allowed to set overlays in Android P, the OS might be interfering with your "Dock as overlay" Nova setting and screwing up your setup by disappearing your dock.
