Nova Launcher lagging through home screens

I installed Nova Launcher and everything is good but after opening a few apps, it lags while going through home screens.

The only way to fix it is to go back to TW and then back to Nova, then its back to being smooth (until it happens again). The app drawer always swipes really smooth, just the home screen.

I always close my apps when not using them, there are no widgets on mt TW home screens.

Anyone know what could cause the delay/lag?

I had similar issues and went with Apex. Much smoother and faster.
