Nova launcher notifications

I can't figure out for the life of me how to get rid of this restriction on my new 10p so notification badges work in Nova prime. Can anyone help me out here?

I would go to app permissions and look under notifications and see what's there.

I went through all the rigamarole and everything is the same settings on my p9p and the notification badges work fine. No clue how to get rid of this extra layer of protection on the p10
