Has anyone gotten the swipe down and pull the notification shade to work? All other gestures work except that one on my edge.

I haven't had any trouble with that. Seems to work fine.

me too can't get it to work.

I saw on XDA Developers the Nova has a beta that has corrected the issue. Hopefully we'll get the update soon.

I use Nova Launcher Prime if that is the difference.

I just tried something...the gesture works but not for "expand notifications"!

I'm curious about what other edge/S6 users are using for a launcher. I've been off Android for awhile now and am finding TW much better than older versions. Anybody sticking with stock or opting for a launcher and why?

S6 Edge

Ive been off android for about 18 months or so and setting up my S6, my first Samsung I thought I'd give the TW a whirl. That didn't last long. I was hunting up nova in the "my apps' section of the store and put it on. What a sweet launcher. I may try some others as I had forgotten how many I had tried previously and were there waiting for me. But nova is just as nice as I remember. The custom options are really nice and no matter what anybody says just being able to customize your phone is the best feature of android for sure. Changing it up once in awhile keeps the experience fresh. There are so many great launchers out there, TW will always be there to go back to so why not play the field a bit, makes for a more fulfilling android experience. Its amazing how much is possible without rooting. Enjoy!

Nova. Get a widget, resize it to the edges. Disable Padding. Thank me later when you're enjoying the sexiness of swiping between homescreens. drool...

Odd. Mine is AT&T.

That stinks. It is my main reason for using it.

Follow the instructions at the link to sign up for the Beta program:

This will allow you to install the beta version directly from Google Play instead of having to side-load it.

I refuse to use any launcher without gestures. It doubles the functionality of icons.

BTW, can anyone explain the difference between swiping to the Google Now screen on the GN Launcher and long pressing the home key for Google Now? If you don't want to wait the half second for it to activate, you could also set up a gesture in Nova to launch it. Personally, the fact that I can long press home for GN from any screen makes it automatically a better option. I am baffled people are installing GNL for the GN screen. To be honest, GNL is even less customizable than TW Launcher and would be dead last on my list of options.

I stick with long press. Even the Widgets aren't as helpful because they only take you to the piece of information you click on. I like the idea of going directly to the whole experience.

Can you expand on this? What I am doing is taking a widget on any page and fully extending it. Is that essentially your solution.

I have also tried to bring my icon size down to 85% to see if it makes me less likely to hit it. If I can't correct this, I may end up going to the regular S6.

He is saying to resize the widget all the way across the screen then touch and hold the widget again and you have an option to disable padding this makes the widget go bezel to bezel looks really nice on the edge

ok, so.. dumb question.. i had the galaxy S5, and some of the touchwiz special things, were lost, when you went to nova.

i have since upgraded to the NExus 6, but this thing, is so fragile, and, now my prox sensor is jacked up with my screen protector.. its just frustrating. so.. thinking about the edge.

the commercials, and online reviews are nice. some of the neat features of the edge, i like as well.. do you lose those features when running nova. like, the bubble notifications, and the color blinking, and the news feed stuff?

I always give other launchers a try but invariably I end up coming back to Nova. Gestures and scrollable dock are too useful. To me most of the functionality of Nova just makes sense and I don't have to give it much thought.

I wouldn't mind using TW except that you cannot move the app icon from the far right. Even though I am right handed I hold the phone in my left hand and use it that way and the app icon cannot be reached with my left thumb! If they would let us move it to where we want it then I might have stayed with TW...otherwise Nova Prime all the way!
