Nova Launcher + Teslaunread unstable on S6

I have an S6 (Lollipop 5.1.1) installed with Nova Prime (paid version) and Teslaunread.

All notifications badges for selected apps actually work well for me - provided Nova's "Notification Bar Watcher" remains switched on. My problem is that the "Notification Bar Watcher" switches off at random and then I get no badges for those few apps its supposed to be "watching".

I've tried clearing the cache + rebooting, uninstalling and re-installing Nova and Teslaunread, etc....all with no luck. I'm really not keen to do a factory reset on my phone.

Anyone has any ideas what might be causing this or how to solve this, please?

Thanks.....I guess that means there isn't a solution. I may consider going back to Touchwiz as well.

Its sad, because I've kinda gotten used to Nova, having been with it since my S4 and S5 days. It has always been reliable previously.

I was loving Nova too but Facebook is a huge deal for me and now I have an up to date counter on my phone. I guess it's a case of which one means more to you. In my case it was Facebook

To me, its the message unread counts for some chat apps which are in Nova's "Notification Bar Watch".

And also, Touchwiz's icons are a bit of an eyesore, no matter which theme I choose.

OK, I admit its also because I've already paid for Nova Prime :D

If you go back to Touchwiz I definitely recommend the theme Weyo. I was bitterly disappointed when it got taken off the free section of the theme store after I had factory reset my phone because here in Australia paid themes aren't available (don't even get me started on how ridiculous I think that is). It recently got brought back to the free side of the theme store and I downloaded it immediately lol

Just went through the theme store and found Weyo, thanks! Found a few others I don't believe I've seen before too - seems that they update the themes quite regularly.

There's no option to pay for themes here in Singapore too.

It's ridiculous right. Samsung thinks only America and Canada should be entitled to paid themes. Try Weyo and let me know what you think

Since you're on 5.1.1, is it possible the process is getting auto-stopped via battery power optimization settings?

Not getting notifications for Facebook is the reason I ditched Nova and went back to Touchwiz

They've always worked fine for me.

None of the two power saving modes are on. I don't have any task killers in my phone either. Well, maybe its best I wait till Nova is further updated before I use it again. From what I've read, it seems that Nova only started getting unreliable since lollipop.

Weyo is nice! But I just noticed that they've added more themes since yesterday, so I'm trying them one by one.

Disable battery optimizations for Teslaunread.

System Settings > Battery > Detail (under App Optimization) > TeslaUnread (select "Turned off for")

You're a life saver.
My issue regarding unread badges disappearing by automatically turning off of teslaunread has been resolved now.

Thanks for the tip.
