Nova Launcher Update

Update after update, no changelog.

Are we sure some Google shell company didn't buy them? If Samsung ever implements nested launcher folders I'm cashing out and moving over.

Just be thankful it's still around
I am in limited capacity. Im more concerned with it being closed source, getting all these sudden updates so frequently. Who knows what's in that code.

The owners are sitting on treasure and this could be another situation (refer to my redacted app thread) where an app is taken over and nobody notices because they are complacent with what they have.
Which we all are. We've been using it since the beginning without second thought.

There is Zero transparency at this point. The beta page isnt maintained. My guess is they will keep compatible for a few more builds and silently disappear like Titanium and others did.

People suddenly worried about Nova Launcher being closed source after Branch Metrics bought it… but the app has been closed source for over a decade and nobody cared before.
If something shady ever shows up, the Android community will spot it in about 5 minutes.

I'm not worried about it being closed source, I'm worried that its closed source and in the hands of a corporation and not the original developer.

A single rogue developer or account take over (see STN situation) and nobody will know.

But that's besides the point. It's the no communication.
Is the plan to keep it updated for compatability only? Are enhancements and decade old bugs going to get fixed? I want to be able to set my expectations.

That's fair and hard to gauge a corporation roadmap on this but if I were to guess updates to fix bugs not so sure on improvements , they just need to be more transparent to us .
