Nova Prime not getting Google Messages.

When I use nova prime Google messages doesn't send or receive texts but if I use samsung one UI it works. Anyway to get Google messages to play nice with nova prime? Thanks

That's very strange. Nova is just a launcher and it shouldn't interfere in how that kind of apps work.

How do you know that you don't receive texts while Nova is set as default launcher? What happens if, while Nova is set as default, you open Google Messages from the Play Store instead of from your homescreen shortcut?

Just to be sure -- you're actually opening the Messages app to send texts? Or are you using some kind of widget or bubble chat option?

Correct when I open the actual messages app there are no received messages in the app nor can I send messages. But this only occurs when I use Nova. It's fine in one UI

Try clearing Data and force stop the message app in case its a glitch

Remove the shortcut from Nova setup and add it back, just in case.

It may also be worth uninstalling Nova and reinstalling it again.

Nova, or any other custom launcher, doesn't affect the ability to send or receive texts, that's not how this kind of apps work. They are homescreen apps, nothing more than that. The logic to troubleshoot your problem must start in which app/shortcut you're launching from Nova, not looking for a conflict between a launcher and your SMS texts.

I just noticed this is in the Tab S7 forum. @fragologist, are you using the Call & Text on Other Devices feature to access Google Messages? If so, maybe that doesn't play well with Nova.

I am actually. Had to use Google messages because samsung messaging app didn't work at all with my tab 7.

Is this a carrier device? Did you need to apply any trick to make Google Messages work? What happens if you open it from the Play Store while Nova is set as default?
