OK. Apparently there were no security issues patched in the Oct update.

There may be but I assume they just don't want to program for a new phone right out the gate and figure they will do it next month + patch a few things if need be.

Generally drops around first Monday of the month or around 5th if I recall correctly. Won't be surprised if we see a blog post on Monday with security patch details and slow roll out begins. They probably will also release OTA images of the update that we can flash on Monday.

It's always the first monday of the month, unless that's a holiday, then it's the following business day. Typically starts rolling by 9:30 AM PST, but the official time is 10:00 AM PST.

Assume you are new to Pixel

That's how it works every year, new Pixel release in October mid with September patch and you start getting monthly updates starting from November. So you are good.

Also, note you may not get update immediately when they announce since they do a slow roll out. So if you are in a hurry and need to update immediately then you can flash the OTA factory image manually using adb tools. We should most like get the update announcement today or within couple of days.

From the functional update logs, it does not seem that many of the bugs reported will be addressed on this update. Maybe December....

Project Fi. I noticed there wasn't a separate for Verizon, so like you thought, maybe it's combined. But I wouldn't be the guinea pig to try it.

It's there now - 2PM EDT.

OK. Apparently there were no security issues patched in the Oct update.

They probably included what would have been the October patches (which, remember, roll out the door to the manufacturers at the beginning of September, so they were probably ready by the middle of August) in the ROM as initially shipped.
