November Security Update

This morning, I pushed my Android-addict need for an update fix deep into my subconscious so I stop hitting the placebo update button multiple times a day using the logic that this update actually doesn't have anything seriously urgent for the 4XL. They are welcome updates but it's okay if it takes a few days or a week.

Oh jeez, saying that just made my finger twitch like I'm pressing a button.

(wow - that's a huge sentence)

The OTA file is still posted on the site, so it hasn't been pulled.

I sideloaded it. Once it's set up, sideloading updates is trivially easy. And for those who aren't aware, you do not need to unlock the bootloader to load an OTA.

I absolutely agree. It is trivially easy if you just follow the steps. I will probably just sideload future updates.

For sideload what is the difference between .C2 OTA file and the regular one? I see two November OTA images

Edit: got the answer from Droid life, the C2 is the for the Verizon version (yuck )

Tired of waiting and just finished sideloading. Interestingly after finishing update it asked me to re-enroll my face unlock.

I am just going to wait. sideload is not my bag.

I'm not into sideloading either.

I did put my SIM card in my old Nexus 6, turned it on and then returned the SIM to the Pixel 4 XL while off and turned it on. Nothing. This worked once before with my Pixel XL when I wasn't getting an update. It didn't work this time, which makes me think it's on Google's side.
