November update

Mine's just installed, as has the other halfs - 12% just dropped off the battery :/

Do not worry! That is probably the phone adjusting to the changes, which would in turn eat up some battery - it'll even out in a few days. :)

We'll see, battery is attrocious currently.

Did you download any new apps recently that could have affected the battery? If things don't shape up in the next few days, see if you still get similar results when you boot the phone into Safe Mode.

I did a full factory reset 8 weeks ago and put nothing extra on the phone recently at all. It reads though there's another update due very soon (5/11/2018.)

Just received November patch on OG Pixel and successfully installed about 2 minutes ago. Hopefully I will have no issues with daily function later! I mean it is 4:22am right now one of those nights I cannot sleep..

Keep us posted on the functionality of your phone! Glad you got the update!

Okay, so no crashes or wierdness happening with a full day of use. Battery is the same, I get about 14 hours off a full charge and it's been that way since upgrading to pie. Oreo had me spoiled with 20 hours of battery life though! Hopefully Google releases some fixes that will improve battery life for us OG Pixel users!!

So far I've had no issues with any of the last 3 monthly updates I've gotten since I purchased my pixel. I did have a tiny glitch from a Google Assistant update, but simply opening up the app fixed it. I've also had great battery life..... my phone says with my usage I can go 1 day 8 hours on a charge, and with turning my phone off every night I could easily go 2 days on a charge (I have the regular pixel). I wish I could understand why upgrades affect some batteries badly but not others...... and better yet I wish Google could lol.

The only things I can think of is maybe older batteries are more affected than newer ones..... my phone is about 3 months old. Or maybe some 3rd party apps don't play nice with some updates.... that's my guess (I don't have any 3rd party apps on my phone).

Like Morty suggested, if I was having major battery issues after an update, I would run in safe mode for a couple days to rule out any rogue 3rd party apps ;-)
