Novice user

Joined so I could follow the hyperlink and, as the name implies I am a novice user. I rooted my inspire 4g and, am now interested in learning more about what I can do with my phone. I just recently flashed the 2.3 leaked version from the UK that the folks over at xda figured out. I would like to become more familiar about the backing up and flashing of roms and loading just certain apk. files without flashing a new rom if that is possible.
