Now available unlocked as Amazon Prime Exclusive

The unlocked version is evidently the European version, so no CDMA is needed. (Why no fingerprint is needed is beyond me - don't Europeans have fingers?)

And it has only 16GB of total storage, so with Oreo you don't have much space for apps (unless you move them to the SD card, which is a bad idea).

Android 8.0.0 Oreo, which ships on all carrier branded and retail unlocked variants of the Moto E5 Play, does not overly consume the 16GB eMMC storage. The /system partition itself is of the ext4 filesystem and is formatted at about 2.34 GB in size. The /userdata partition -- which uses the f2fs filesystem -- is formatted at 10.8 GB in allotted size. So, notwithstanding the Android OS and other dedicated firmware partitions (there are 54 partitions total), a Moto E5 Play owner always starts off with 10.8 GB free out of the 16 GB for internal storage space. Moreover, the Moto E5 Play supports up to 512 GB external storage via microSD card. Adoptable storage is also supported for device owners who opt to format their external microSD card as internal storage. In this type scenario, internal storage can be calculated by adding the 10.8 GB native internal storage space to the total storage space available on formatted adoptable storage. With a 64 GB external microSD card, for example, about 59 GB remains free after formatting. So, 10.8 GB + 59 GB would calculate to 69.8 GB -- or approximately 70 GB -- internal storage space available using the adoptable storage platform.

Im considering buying this or the G6 Play, but i have a question regarding storage. I bought my first Android, a Tab A 7.0 just to learn android and i notice that not all apps can be moved to the micro SD card and i was wondering if this is also the case for the E5 Play?

In my experience almost everything can be moved especially on a rooted device, however you SHOULDNT on some apps because it could stop notifications and widgets from working correctly or in some cases make the app FC repeatedly.
So the reason they make it so that you cant move the app is to stop you from 'breaking' the app.
On the other hand you can use adoptable storage feature to make your sd card believe its an extension of your internal storage but it can be slow and buggy and because of the limited read and write that sd have (a certain number before the sd card goes bad) and its my impression that adoptable storage increases the reads/writes to sd thus limiting the life.....

Hope this helps
