NOW that we've got official Froyo, NOW we can complain...

My browser are much faster now. Phone is much smoother too. I guess it just needed a mintue to settle in.

lol, I'm so geeked up. Got a text through google voice resulting in a green blinking notification light. I know I'm late, but that was awesome.

My complaints about Froyo are about the substantive features of several applications.

Contacts:
-- Improved sort (last, first) finally
-- Can't set or view by category/group
-- can't set prefs by category/group (eg, group ringtone)

Calendar:
-- Still just plain sucks
-- Can't edit calendar category after creating event
-- Does not remember last view
-- very limited alarm functions
-- most of this will be cured when Pimlical is out (hope it's soon)

Email:
-- no option to sort by oldest first or newest first
-- finally fixed signatures (yay!)
-- can't undelete
-- deletions do not delete from server with IMAP accounts
-- no option to retain messages in inbox for certain number of days (for some reason it only keeps about a day's worth of messages, which can be inconvenient)
-- no option to change the account from which you are sending once you create a new message
-- basically, the email app lacks many features that were widely available on third-party apps for the Treo (Chatter email & Snappermail)

Those are my principal complaints. I have already decided that a third-party option will be needed for calendar. Contacts will have to be fixed by Google. Maybe there is a better third party email app.

Otherwise, I like Froyo.

My Widgets aren't loading info. Weatherbug elite only shows blank tiles where the 3 day forecast should be. AC widget either says connection issues or loading. And YouTube says connection issues. Also the weatherbug notification stays in a flash style loading circle for 20 minutes or so after booting up. None of these issues existed in eclair.

@quixoticelixer Did you try rebooting or removing them and re-adding them? Usually that fixes these issues.

Yeah. Still happens. Doesn't have a problem in 3g though. And never happened on edge before froyo. Another issue I'm startto notice is that my Bluetooth has taken a dump. Can't even use my headset. It wont connect to it at all since installing 91.

Also to get the weatherbug temperature notification to work I actually Have to open the app. But only on edge, not 3g

This is weird. No issues with 91 here. I did get few issues with 85B though, and did a complete wipe and started over; it worked like a champ since then.

Is this solution an option for you?

It could be but since coming from palm pre and witnessing the disaster their cloud management was. I'm concerned about losing my stuff. Plus I have no clue how to load all my stuff into a cloud server.

Since upgrading to FRF91, I've had to pull the battery almost a dozen times, that includes the 4 times I had to do it yesterday and the one this morning. I upgraded when it was released online. Apps are freezing. I did a factory reset today and had to do a pull shortly after.

Received froyo update this morning OTA, so far its been great especially having flash. Although i did realize the android market is terribly slow when it opens up and whenever its loading. I tried it with wifi and it still loads up slow. Other then that so far so good.

FRF91 uses a hostname with an underscore in DHCP requests over Wifi. An underscore is an invalid character in a hostname in DNS, so the DHCP server gets an error if it tries to register the name FRF91 gives it.

I just realized I haven't received any e-mail since installing FRF91 yesterday. The Email app won't connect to my server any more. "TLS (accept all certificates)" is broken.

Delete server info and re-add.

I can't speak to the stock Email app, but k-9 accepts certs that are self issued.
I use SSL Imap on a company self issued cert with no problem.

I've been pretty happy so far with froyo. The only thing minor thing I noticed that is missing is that now I can't turn off the vibrate option using my volume rocker anymore.

For instance I used to be able to adjust the ringer volume from loud, to low, to vibrate, to silent with vibrate off, just by holding down on my volume button. For some reason I really liked that feature.

got my froyo, it's delicious and creamy. quite happy, everything's just that little bit quicker and smoother.

the gallery seems slower, and it appears that there's no longer any colour banding in images, which may mean it's slower because it's giving higher quality previews.

i'm also having that stupid thing where my avatar doesn't show in sms app. apparently thats because you need to have the number on your sim, but you gotta do it in a diff phone. gonna pop the sim in girlfriend's old lg viewty and see if i can do it.
