Now you're on Android, what platform did you come from?

What platform were you on before Android?

I was one of those folks who jumped on the Storm when it first came out, was my first smartphone. I never felt like it was 'horrible' but that may be just because I never had anything to compare it to really. It was much better than my old Razor (haha, remember when those came out?) clone so I didn't complain too much. Would NEVER EVER go back now 'tho.

I came from the first gen Palm Pre. Since sprint seems to be abandoning the webos devices, I decided to jump ship and pick up the $0 Optimus S.

I'm really happy with the switch, but I do miss the gesture area from the Pre, and how you could see all the open apps.

The best part of getting an android phone, more than all the great apps, is how smooth everything scrolls. The UI is just so much more responsive than the Pre. Which is funny, because while the pre stuttered a lot, it could run intense 3d games like a charm. The Optimus S's UI is incredibly smooth, but has issues playing Angry Birds...

Same.

I selected straight to Android, which is partially true. I had a Blackberry at work for about 4 months before it was taken away (not that I'm complaining) :)

I came from a palm centro. Had the centro for about 3 years. I'm loving android but do miss a physical keyboard at times.

I came from a string of Blackberries and feature/dumbphones.. I miss my physical keyboard, and my push notification email/facebook. Other than that I haven't looked back, and I'm hoping we get a nice LTE full QWERTY device in 2011 on VZW.

I had the BB Tour for a little over a year. I didn't plan on upgrading, but Verizon sent me an email that said I was eligible, which was cool because I wanted a new phone. While I loved my BB, I really fell in love with the Fascinate, so I got that. I've had it a little over a week now and I'm a happy camper. :)

Came from blackberry and windows mobile. Windows sucked. Constant memory leaks and reboots. My blackberry was great for email and text but when it came down to web and running applications was almost like any other dumb phone. Plus my blackberries lacked the memory to have many programs installed and running. This is my first android device which I was planning on getting since the announcemnt of 1ghz processors went mainstream. My droid 2 is the best phone I have ever owned and I am a loyal android user and will be until the can implant phones into the brain.

I had an iPhone 3G for two years but switched to Android when the Evo came out. There are still some things I prefer about iOS and the iPhone but on balance Android and the Evo kill the iPhone!

My smartphone lineage: Samsung I500 (Palm)-->Nokia 9290 (Symbian)-->Treo 650 (palm)-->Centro (palm)--> Sprint Touch (WinMo)--> Sprint Touch Pro2 (WinMo)-->TMobile G2 (Android).

Just got the Android and looking forward to it!

i currently have an original storm, but am only waiting until the dual core android comes to verizon, the "Etna"

I am so over bb... i was hooked, always hunting for leaked OS updates, and trying the hybrids... it was fun... now time to root and find ROMS and launchers...woo hoo

Symbian for 2 years, BB for 9 years, and now Android on the Fascinate.

Actually I still have the BB for work but the Fascinate is a great toy for killing time. It's worth carrying 2 devices around.

Blackberry this wasn't too bad of a transition. Like it much better.
this is a very helpful site
