Yep, more than likely they're place holders. I believe it'll launch directly after it is announced on September 4th or very soon after (no more than a week).

I went through this not too long ago with the Galaxy S5. I pre-ordered screen protectors and a couple cases. Most came before the launch and some within the week of launch. Definitely placeholder dates. It wouldn't be too hard to make a round screen protector for this. All you need is one measurement...Its screen diameter.
