October Security Patch on the 2XL

Is it only my phone, or would it be fair to assume that the Pixel 2XL will be skipping the October Security patch and going straight to November's in a week or so?

Is this also the case for the Pixel 2?

Until last week, I had the Nexus 6P and the Pixel XL, and both had received the October Security patch. My Pixel C also received the patch.

This is correct. If you install the 8.1 beta you will have the Oct. patch.

If you don't want the 8.1 beta just wait a few days and you will get an update.

So the people on the beta don't have the "display fix" for the XL. Does that mean it won't be in next week's update?

On beta the display fix is there. The update people will get next week will be the security patch update. I don't know if 8.1 is ready for release yet.

I think 8.1 is supposed to come out in December. I saw that somewhere, I think Android Police.

So there's a update for the XL for the screen, retention / burn in, both the 2 and XL are the same hardware, so one update that'll affect both phones?
Or XL will receive its own update, hope that made sense.

My 2 XL is on the September security patch. I imagine it'll skip Oct and go straight to November.

Wonder if it'll be bundled with the screen calibration changes.
