Battery life is back to normal after updating with October security patch. I'm at 4 hours screen time and 50% battery! Very nice considering last patch was very bad for battery.

Which s8 do u have us version or international and if it's us version is it unlocked?....cuz I haven't received October update on my Snapdragon us unlocked s8

It's almost like Samsung wants us to stop buying unlocked phones. This is ridiculous. If we wanted phones that never get security patches we could all buy Motorola phones! :D

I won't buy a Verizon branded phone because of the bloatware. The Verizon phone I traded in for the S8 was just packed with crap I would never use and couldn't uninstall. I uninstalled whatever I could and still had something like 25 or 30 apps disabled.

Even though (as a previous Nexus 5X owner) I really appreciate Google's take on the OS itself and the security updates having the Pixel line as the only option leave a lot of people out. Google has abandoned the mid-range market and that is a shame.

I think either Pixel is just too much money. Yes I know i have a Samsung Galaxy S8 which isn't cheap either but I only paid $425.00 for it with my trade (which I probably could have sold outright for $75.00) so the S8 seems like a way better deal, at least as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not disparaging the Pixel, I haven't seen or touched one. Just saying they are expensive.

That means, the carriers already have the update and if Verizon stays on its schedule, should push out the update in about two weeks or so. Probably right after Thanksgiving.

Samsung had been doing a decent job up until now. I was getting patches two weeks after my 5X got them and I was happy with that schedule.
