Odd Charging Notifications, Docking Problems, HELP!

Like my S2 a few years ago, my S4 has suddenly begun to announce "Now Charging" with that bloop bleep tone. Over and over, sometimes with no pause between, sometimes 5 minutes between this notification The "Now Docked" notification also does this, whether or not I am plugging into a computer or a charger. This phone has been remarkable up until now, both in it's speed of charging and it's battery life. Now I cannot charge it or dock it. Before, with my S2,the Sprint people sold me a new battery.She told me not to let it sit on the charger after it was 100% (?) It worked, but I still needed to hook it to the charger all the time. I truly love this phone, it is my primary device and I can't work without it.
