Odd happening

In my building at work I get no signal what so ever so I started turning on wifi and shutting off mobile data while here at work so the phone isn't constantly looking for signal and using battery. Odd thing is that I still receive FB notifications. How is this? FB is block on our wifi at work and I have mobile data shutoff. Anyone?

Its not blocked on your phone. And its an app. Wifi cant block apps. I think. Same thing happens at my school.

It just means your work isn't blocking the push notifications that Facebook uses.
