Odd Location Issues...

Has anyone else been having problems with the Incredible reporting the wrong location? My issues started on Sunday...the weather widget on the home screen started listing the weather for towns about 30/40 miles north of me (Google Maps showed the same location). I usually have GPS turned off, but even when I turn it on to refresh maps with the correct location, the weather widget still refuses to update appropriately.

Any help would be appreciated!

Turn the GPS on. (It does not use that much power, and you are missing a lot of phone functionality with it off).

First location hints when GPS is off is from cell tower locations AND visible wifi routers.

Towers can be inaccurate, but usually not for long. Bitch to your carrier.

But all it takes is one wifi router nearby that moved from someplace else and the database (skyhook) has not yet been updated. Test this with wifi off.

Thats odd because mine starting doing the same thing on saturday. I only turn my gps on if im navigating, and it wasn't on on saturday so i dont know why it'd be stuck on some other town. I called verizon this morning and they advised me to call *228 option 1. That is supposed to reprogram the phone and simulate activating it. I did this maybe 7 times today...no progress...

Having the same issues, its the phone, not the Widget or HTC. I had a Moto Droid before so I had already purchased Weather Widget Donate, I switched to that one and I had the same issues, but only in certain places, I'm in Phoenix, and when I am at work, which is in Phoneix, it says I'm in Rockaway Beach, which is in Or. I believe, but I live in Suprise, and that reports correctly. Strange. LOL...

And GPS has no impact, tried it on and off and still the same, I'm guessing it has something to do with the verizon towers in the area.

On a side note, GPS stays accurate in maps, its only the location service with the phone.
