Odd SMS Problem. Help?

As of yesterday, I've been entirely unable to send text messages on my Rezound. I've tried the stock app, and GoSMS, neither of them seem to send.
The odd thing is that it "sends" the message, the sending arrow vanishes, and the message details say "sent", but no one seems to receive the text.
I noticed this started happening after an OTA download failed because "cache space was full." I'm unsure if this has anything to do with it, but it's quite suspect.
Can anyone throw me a bone? I rebooted twice and still, no dice.

Have you attempted to reboot to recovery and wipe cache? Should free up space, but please do some research on that option first I don't know if it will affect other items/functions of the phone.

Here's my problem. Do you guys ever send texts by long pressing the search button? The texts seem to go through, but they often don't show up in the person's thread in the messaging app. Sometimes they do show up. Weird.

Ah! Beautiful! This seems to have fixed it, and without any strange side effects (so far.) I've never had to wipe my cache aside from doing it for a ROM installation, so I was a bit hesitant. But this seems to have solved the issue.
The only problem left behind is that now the only person I can't seem to text is my girlfriend, but she can receive texts from other people. Very weird.

Glad it worked! I wonder if next time you'd just be able to use a file explorer (ES or Root Explorer) to browse the cache file. I tried looking into my cache folders but they appeared empty. I am on ICS though so I'm not subject to the forced download of the updates.

Next time one downloads I'd check the cache folder and subfolders to see if you can find the file and manually delete it.

I have a similar problem.. I originally pushed and flash the 2.3.6 update on to my razr.. Yesterday I flashed it back (I am stock fyi)... Everything went fine.. Then went to text and I can't. I tried the cache trick.. Nothing wtf!!!! Agh. Any thoughts?

Similar problem, definitely sounds like a different source though.

Were you able to make a nandroid backup prior to pushing the update?

What problems was the update supposed to address?

I haven't touched my phone in any other manner. So nothing backed up... The update I came back down from addressed lots of things. 4g connection issues and a few other smaller things.. I CAN send mms btw

I wiped the following:
1.) Cache space for the Messaging app
2.) Temporary files on both internal & external SD card
3.) Reboot into recovery to wipe the cache parition

I'm able to send and receive, but the sending seems to lag much more than usual about an hour after wiping, and as I said, it's impossible to text my girlfriend. I'm beginning to suspect either a network issue in this area, or my phone is sh*tting the bed.

I flashed the update again... It is working again..i'm going to try to flash down again and see what happens! Just want this ota update.. Either way I'll wait for it this go around.

Update:
I'm attributing the texting problem to some network downtime, or the need to wipe cache, either way, my phone is functioning as normal.
Also, I figured out the problem with my GF's DInc. Apparently, the latest OTA broke something. I backed up her stuff, wiped internal storage, and factory reset. About 5 mintues after activating her phone, she got a flood of about 50 text messages that were undelivered for some reason.
Lesson of the story: Never accept OTA's, period.

I wouldn't say never but...good rule of thumb. Anyway I've had this issue before and it was 100% network related. It usually depended on what network/carrier the other party was on. Like for 2 days I couldn't text/call my friends on T-Mobile but I could communicate with everyone else(that wasn't on T-Mobile).

Interesting to know on the Dinc. And here I thought the GF was just trying to tell you something... lol

LOL yeah right. I got a confrontational phone call about why I wasn't returning her first few texts.

Yeah, that could be tense... The only thing worse is when two of 'em start talking to each other - and putting 2 and 2 together...

I gave my Dinc to a friend when I got the Rezound. She mentioned to me that she thought she was getting fewer texts than normal (at least mine are going through). I laughed it off, but guess I will try your trick on it. Thanks again for letting us know. ;)
